Doug Meacomes October 16, 1974 – January 10, 2017

Doug Meacomes, 42, of Lucama passed away Tuesday. His funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Waddell Family Cemetery, Lucama. The Rev. Donnie Price will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Doug was an avid pool player, who competed in many tournaments around Wilson and Wayne County. He never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. Doug was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Doug is survived by his loving mother, Brenda Crocker and husband, Jimmy of Lucama; his father, Johnny Meacomes and wife, Debbie of Raleigh; fiancé, Anita Barnes of the home, and Hayley Barnes, his future step-daughter that he loved liked a daughter; brothers, Keith Meacomes of Lucama, and Dennis Meacomes and wife, Dawn of Rock Ridge; his nieces and nephews, Taylor and Josh of Lucama, and Hunter and Zac of Rock Ridge; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and his longtime friends, Thomas Barnes and Lyn Collier.
