Dusty Ray Viverette

Dusty Ray Viverette, 61, of Wilson passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Buckhorn Cemetery, 8039 Hwy 42, Kenly. Pastor Daylon Mooneyham will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1 – 3 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

 One of Dusty’s loves was to make knives, and he enjoyed playing golf, tending to his yard and traveling to the mountains. Dusty served his country with honor and pride with the United States Air Force, and he was a faithful servant to God and his church. He was a man that loved his family with all he had, and he will be remembered with wonderful memories and smiles and laughs because he was always a jokester.

 Dusty is survived by his loving wife of forty-one years, Connie Smith Viverette; sons, Shane Viverette and wife, Andrea of Wilson, and Austin Viverette and wife, Hannah of Wilson; sister, Lisa Irby and brother, Marty Viverette both of Virginia; mother-in-law, Marie Smith, and his sisters-in-law, Faye Davis and husband, Steve of Bailey and Diane Myrick and husband, Jack of Kenly.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Danny Ray Viverette and Linda Pearl Peedin, and step-father, James Peedin, who he loved as a father; brothers-in-law, Patrick Smith and Timmy Smith and father-in-law, Kenneth Smith.
