Edith Corrine Logan Edith Corrine Logan, 93 of Wilson passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 5 in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. George Loveland will officiate. Corrine was a 1st Lieutenant Army Cadet Nurse and served during WWII. She graduated from Watts College of Nursing, which is now part of Duke University. Corrine worked over fifty-two years as a registered nurse in many different fields and was an instructor at Wilson School of Nursing. Corrine was very active in her church, Winstead United Methodist where she was a former superintendent of Sunday school, and participated in various circles, and committees. She was the first Girl Scout Leader at the church, Troop 414 and also the leader for Troop 71. Corrine was the President of Westwood Garden Club for many years and she was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables. Corrine attended many basketball, soccer, and baseball games of her children. She traveled throughout the US and around the world collecting plants. Corrine enjoyed sewing, watercolor painting and ceramics. She was a Docent at the Country Doctor Museum in Bailey, where she has donated numerous items. Corrine is survived by her daughters, Laura Logan Edmundson and husband, Gary of Oakwood, Georgia and Ella Logan Winslow and husband, Joseph of Jamesville; son, John V. Logan of Wilson; grandchildren, Mark Edmundson, Alex Edmundson and Kealen Patterson and her sisters, Loula Conques and husband, Duane of Texas and Victoria Clark and husband, Ken of Shallotte. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Logan in 1975; parents, Paul and Edith Solomon; sisters, Pauline Weddle, Mary Jane Parks and Shirley Hamlett and her brother, Samuel Solomon. Memorials may be directed to Winstead United Methodist Church, 1407 S Tarboro Street, Wilson, North Carolina 27893 or the Country Doctor Museum, 7089 Peele Road, Bailey, North Carolina 27807.
