Edna Taylor Rose
January 29, 1928 – March 27, 2017
Edna Taylor Rose, 89, passed away Monday. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Bergland, the Rev. Charles Robl and the Rev. Dan Jones will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all that knew her. She will be greatly missed and thought of often with joy and smiles. She graduated from Atlantic Christian College in 1972 where she obtained a teaching degree. Edna began her teaching career in 1973 at Elm City High School. She taught for 12 years in the Wilson County School system, finishing her career at Hunt High School in 1986. She enjoyed Tarheel football and basketball, cooking with her grandchildren and beach trips with her family.
Edna is survived by her sons, William Carroll Rose, Jr. and wife, Elaine of Wilson and Clifton Allen Rose and wife, Karen of Wilson; granddaughter, Emily Caroline Rose of Wilson; grandsons, William Fields Rose, Aaron Lee Rose and Ethan Taylor Rose all of Wilson; brothers, Rex Taylor of Raleigh and Larry Taylor of Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Carroll Rose, Sr.
