Effie Whitehurst Tew

Effie Louise Whitehurst Tew, 88, of Wilson, passed away Tuesday. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Lucama Church of God, 307 Spring Street, Lucama, North Carolina, 27851 on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Pastor Tim Johnson will officiate.

Effie was a light and laughter to all who knew her, she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. She was an avid lover of the Lord and was a long-time member of The Lucama Church of God. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Effie is survived by her daughters, Becky Guddat and husband, Derrick, Freda Love and husband, Johnny and Linda Wells; son, Bob Crisp and wife, Margie; granddaughters, Tammy Love and husband, Kenneth, Tina Sutton and husband, Jimmy, Jessica Allen and husband, Jay, Sarah Richmond and husband, Julian; grandsons, Neal Summerlin, Scotty Summerlin, Mark Winstead and wife, Bridgette, Todd Wells and wife, Tonya and Rob Crisp and wife, Amanda; eighteen loving great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Effie Whitehurst as well as eight siblings.
