Eleanor Bridgers Hart

Eleanor Bridgers Hart, 70, of Wilmington passed from this earth to Heaven on Saturday, September 21, 2013, following a brief illness at New Hanover Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday at Piney Grove FWB Church, Kenly. Interment will follow in the Bridgers Family Cemetery, Kenly. The Rev. Joey Yow and the Rev. Wayne Hargrove will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., at Piney Grove FWB Church, 2201 Piney Grove FWB Church Road, Kenly. Eleanor was born on June 23, 1943, the daughter of the late Melvin Thad Bridgers and Mildred Jackson Bridgers. Eleanor grew up on the family farm near Kenly where she attended Kenly High School and enjoyed participating in many school activities. She graduated in 1961 and attended Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in the School of Business. Following her completion at ACC, Eleanor started a long and much respected career at North Carolina State University as an Administrative Assistant in both the College of Engineering and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Eleanor married Franklin D. Hart in 1983 and resided in Cary, until they retired to Wilmington. She enjoyed traveling, flowers, blooming bushes, bird watching, and feeding her hummingbirds. Eleanor was loved by many friends and family that will miss and think of her often with love and memories that will warm their hearts. Surviving Eleanor is her husband, Franklin D. Hart; two step-daughters, Kimberly Butler and Janine Brugh and husband, Rob; one grandson, Joshua Heath and his wife, Kelly, and their two sons, Lucas and Eli; two granddaughters, Haley and Chandler Brugh; and her brother, Charlie Franklin Bridgers.
