Elizabeth Tedder Atkinson January 4, 1926 – May 13, 2015 Elizabeth Tedder Atkinson, 89, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. Her funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Dr. Doug Murray and Rev. Tim Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Lib loved her family, church, her hospice caregivers, neighbors and her many friends. She enjoyed bridge, golf and gardening. Lib loved her family and they were very important to her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Lib is survived by her daughters, Margaret Atkinson Barkley of Rocky Mount and Betty Atkinson Odom of Asheville; her grandsons, Carey Barkley and Ben Barkley both of Rocky Mount; her sister, Eloise T. Barnes of Wilson and her brother, Bobby Tedder of Knightdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer E. “Slim” Atkinson, Jr. and her brother, Harold Tedder.
