Elizabeth Turnage Boykin October 5, 1919 – October 29, 2015 Elizabeth “Lizzie” Turnage Boykin, 96, passed away Thursday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rock Springs FWB Church, 7286 Hwy 264 Alt., Bailey. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. The Rev. Walter Blackman will officiate. The family will receive friends 6 – 7:30 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Lizzie was a faithful member of Rock Springs FWB Church. Lizzie is survived by her daughters, Rebecca B. Stott, Margaret B. Bailey (Jim), and Melba B. Fulghum (Dalton); her grandchildren; Gordon Stott (Karen)(great-grand, Meredith Stott), Todd Boykin, and Jennifer Batts; four great-grands; one great-great-grand, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thomas Boykin; her son, William T. “Bill” Boykin; her parents, George Herman Turnage and Mamie Cooley Turnage; sisters, Grace Harris, Gladys Peele, Jennie Anderson, Reba Turnage and Louise Phillips, and her brother, Alton Turnage.
