Elma Thompson Harper April 7, 1928 – March 9, 2019 Elma Thompson Harper, 90, of Bailey entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her family and devoted caregivers on March 9, 2019. She was born on April 7, 1928 to the late Everette and Minnie Baines Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Buddy Harper; son, Jerry Bass and her brother, Tommy Thompson. Elma leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Susan Mascellino and husband, Tom; son, Reid Harper and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Lindsay Bass-Patel and husband, Pratik and Justin Bass and wife, Abby; great-granddaughter, Poppy Patel and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bass The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Hospice of Wilson. The quality of care that the entire family received was much appreciated. Special thanks to Kelly Lassister, Tracey King, Tracey Vaughan, Jim Powell, Khaleeah Young and Lavonne Constance. Elma had several amazing caregivers who treated her with the utmost love, respect and care; Christine Davis, Denise Dew, Elnora Farmer, Sarah Page and from Brentwood Home Care, Jacqueline Smith, Prell Johnson, Mary Ruffin, Barbara Hall and Marie Jones. Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Stanhope Baptist Church with the family receiving friends starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Stanhope Fellowship Building.
