Elmer Ioutress Joyner December 26, 1919 – October 6, 2017 Elmer Ioutress Joyner, 97, of Wilson passed away Friday. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Service, 2800 Nash Street NW, Wilson.  The Rev. Betsy Combs will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home. Elmer is survived by his wife, Polly Joyner of the home; his daughter, Catherine J. Perry of Wilson; his son, Dennis Joyner of Wilson; granddaughter, Katie Joyner of Wilson; his grandsons, Marty Perry and wife, Robin of Newport, Jason M. Joyner and wife, Melissa of Wilson, and Brooks T. Joyner and wife, Summer of Kenly; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and three sisters.
