Ernest Brantley
July 9, 1936 – May 18, 2018
Ernest Brantley, 81, of Elm City passed away Friday. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Pastor Shawn Garnett will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Ernest was a Senior Vise President with Thurston Motor Lines and Old Dominion Freight Line and was an avid golfer.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Sandra Barnes Brantley of the home; his daughter, Shirley Garner of Thomasville; his son, Todd Brantley and wife, Laura of Florence, South Carolina; grandsons, Brandon Dettmar and Dustin Dettmar; his great-grandchildren, Noah, Sirsha, Brayden, Jackson, and Ava Rose; his step-children, Toni House and husband, Randy, George Webb and wife, Wendy, and Lynn Sherrod and friend, Wayne; step-grandchildren, Brantley House, Scott Sherrod and wife, Paige, Melissa Tingen and husband, Jonathon, and Earon House, and his step-great-grandchildren, Delilah Sherrod, Sadie Sherrod, and Harper Tingen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Nettie Brantley, and eight siblings.
