Ernest Blaine Lucas, Jr.
Ernest Blaine “Ernie” Lucas, Jr., 52 departed this earth on Friday, June 8, 2018 at The Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice Center. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rock Hill Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. Danny Harris and Rev. T. Elwood Long will officiate.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Ernie was born in Wilson County and resided most of his life in Bailey. He graduated from James B. Hunt High School and worked in the electrical field for many years. He loved his family, his pets, sports, fishing, and hunting, and especially his son, Drew, his pride and joy.
As a firm believer in prayer, Ernie’s faith was strong and having asked for forgiveness for his sins he looked forward to being with his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his son, Drew Lucas of Bailey; his parents, Blaine and Charlene Lucas of the home; sister, Cindy McKeel and husband, Larry; nieces, Chelsey McElroy and husband, Ben, Haley Ward and husband, Russell all of Wilson; a host of aunts and uncles, cousins, and especially, his friends, Jeff Bray, Pam Webb, and Sherry Perry.
The family would like to thank all the staff and volunteers at The Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice for their dedication, love and support.
