Essie Pittman Durham August 7, 1919 – June 12, 2015 Essie Pittman Durham, 95, of Wilson, passed away Friday. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. Billy Toler will officiate. The family will receive friends 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Surviving are one brother, Coon Pittman, Jr. of Wilson; a number of nieces and nephews; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; and a number of special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington “Shorty” Pittman. Flowers are welcome and memorials may be directed to a church of the donor’s choice.
