Ethel Hill Hayes, 84, of Wilson passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013.  A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.   Ethel was born April 29, 1929, in Johnston County, NC, the daughter of the late Resley and Mary Hill.  She was the owner and operator of Hayes Custom Drapery until she retired.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.   Ethel is survived by her son, Ricky Hayes and wife, Miriam of Elm City; her daughter, Teresa Dixon and husband, Tom of Raleigh; her granddaughter, Amanda Dixon of Lexington, Virginia; her sister, Janie Joyner and husband, Larry of Wilson; her brother, Jackie Hill and wife, Jewel of Wilson; sisters-in-law, Elaine and Barbara Hill, Gerry and Betty Hayes; and many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Pee Wee” Hayes, and her brothers, Kenneth and Lynwood Hill.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Free Will Baptist Church, 4865 Nash Street N.W., Wilson, NC  27896.   Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
