Ethel Mae Brinkley Brewer October 21, 1920 – June 20, 2018 Ethel Mae Brinkley Brewer, 97, of Wilson passed away Wednesday peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Her funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Steve Edmundson will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday evening following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and at the home of her son, Jimmy. Ethel is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Lib” Brewer Bass of Wilson; her sons, Jimmy Brewer and wife, Sylvia of Wilson, and Wiley Rufus Brewer, Jr. of Wilson; granddaughters, Cathy Brewer Ordess and husband, Jody, Angie Bass Brantley and husband, Willie, Elizabeth Nicole Brewer, and Tami Brewer Barbee and husband, Jon; grandsons, Rusty Brewer, Mossette Bass, and Mark Anthony Brewer and wife, Lynn; thirteen great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; seven step-great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Elsie Brewer Smith of Wilson and Patricia Brewer of Greenville; brothers, Atlas Brewer of Wilson, George Brewer of Sharpsburg and Ervin Brewer of Macclesfield, and her daughter-in-law, Mona Gardner Brewer of Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Wiley Rufus Brewer, Sr.; her son, Jarvis McCray Brewer; two sisters; three brothers, and her son-in-law, Claude Wayne Bass.
