Ethel Marie Mayo, 77 o Goldsboro passed away peacefully Sunday, November 6, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Lewis Swindell will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Ethel loved crafts, especially ceramics and molding and painting them, also she loved needlepoint and crocheting. She enjoyed her job as a professional truck driver. Most of all she loved her family dearly and will be missed by all.
Ethel is survived by her sons, Jimmy Mayo and wife, Pamela, Bill Lee Mayo and fiancé, Teresa Parker, James Avery Mayo and wife, Tammy, and Dennis K. Mayo; sisters, Patricia Pat Farmer, Betty Anise Swindell and husband, Lewis, Rita Jo Pridgen and husband, William Lee, and Kathleen Renee Ellis; brothers, Clifton Paul Ellis, and Eddie Glenn Ellis; grandchildren, Candace Cross, Amanda Norris, Tracy Mayo, James Lee Mayo, Lisa Parker, Jessica Davis, and Will Mayo, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy T. Mayo, Sr., parents, James and Maddie Ellis, and her brothers, Kenneth Lee Ellis, and Wiley Lynn Ellis.
