Ethel Smiley August 5, 1926 – January 17, 2017   Ethel Smiley, 90, of Wilson passed away Tuesday. Her funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson.  The Rev. Ray Barnhill will officiate.   The family will receive friends from 6 – 6:45 p.m. Thursday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.   Ethel is survived by her granddaughter, Melinda Joy Smiley Karl of Huntersville, Merry Leigh Smiley Sayblack and Marilyn Noel Smiley both of Wilson, and great-grandchildren, Amber Karl and Luke Jenks of Huntersville, and Gavin Sayblack of Wilson.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Glaucus G. Smiley; her son, Glaucus Keith Smiley, and her sisters, Mildred Ovella Mitchell and Mary Waszczyseyn.   Condolences may be directed to Joyner’s Funeral Home at www.joyners.net.
