Ethelene Lucas Barnes June 9, 1925 – December 21, 2018 Mrs. Ethelene Lucas Barnes, 93, of Wilson, NC passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Wilson Pines Rehabilitation in Wilson, NC. She was born June 9, 1925 a daughter of the late Sanford Lucas and Effie Wells Lucas. Mrs. Barnes was married to the late Ralph Barnes and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all her extended family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Kaye Michaels of Raleigh, NC; son, Carlton Barnes and his wife, Marjorie of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Jeff Michaels and wife, Maggie of Raleigh, NC and Scott Barnes and wife, Stephanie of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Dr. Anne Barnes of Portland Oregon and great grandchildren, Blythe and Mabel Michaels of Raleigh, NC and Christopher Barnes of Charlotte, NC A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 24, 2018 in Buckhorn Cemetery with Chaplain Telly Lucas officiating. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Joyner’s Funeral Home 4100, Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, NC 27896.
