Etta Etheridge Batchelor April 28, 1933 – March 26, 2014

Our precious mother, Etta Etheridge Batchelor, 80, of Lucama, with her family by her side, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Friday at Daniels Chapel FWB Church. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont. The Rev. Johnny Sullivan and the Rev. Bill Groce will officiate.

The family will receive friends 10 – 11:30 a.m. Friday at Daniels Chapel FWB Church, 4828 Frank Price Church Rd., Wilson, NC.

Surviving are her children and spouses, Jo Ann and Randy Everton of Lucama, Debby and Bob Lafater of Zebulon, Becky Etheridge of Lucama, and Harrison and Jeanette Batchelor of Pensacola, FL; two grandsons, Johnny and Jacob Batchelor; a sister, Jane Barbee of Raleigh; and special friends, Connie Boyette and Barbara Ferrell.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, James E. Etheridge and John H. Batchelor; her granddaughter, Collins Etheridge Lafater; her parents, Joe and Lillie Flowers Watson; and her brother, Glen Watson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Daniels Chapel FWB Church Benevolence Fund, 4828 Frank Price Church Rd., Wilson, NC 27893, thereby helping others in the name of Jesus as our mother so often did.

Arrangements are by Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
