Etta Temple Godwin

Etta Temple Godwin November 7, 1935 – May 22, 2017 Etta Temple Godwin, 81, of Wilson, passed away Monday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rock Springs Church, Bailey. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery. The Rev. Walter Blackmon will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Etta is survived by her husband of 61 years, Howard R. Godwin; daughters, Glenda Whitley and husband, Keith of Bailey and Kim Edmundson and husband, Jimmy of Wilson; son, Roy Godwin and wife, Debbie of Wilson; granddaughter, Ashley Barnes and husband, Alan of Rocky Mount; grandsons, Brad Whitley and wife Amanda of Wilson, Josh Edmundson and Caleb Edmundson, both of Wilson, Chad Lucas and wife, Amanda of Snow Hill, Lance Lucas and wife, Victoria of Wilson; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Roy and Sallie Dixie Temple; four brothers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Laura Bissette, Marsha Brantley, Linda Price and Shelby Lucas.
