Eugene Bass

October 25, 1938 – July 25, 2014

Eugene “Gene” Bass, 75, of Wilson passed away Friday.  Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday at Daniels Chapel FWB Church, 4828 Frank Price Church Road, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Black Creek Cemetery.  The Rev. Johnny Sullivan and Rev. Bill Groce will officiate. The family will receive friends 1 – 2:45 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the church and other times at the home Kathy Pittman. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.  He loved to fish, was an avid NASCAR fan and always pulled for the New York Yankees.  Gene loved his grandchildren and his great-grandchild; they were the apple of his eye.  He will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories that will warm the heart. Gene is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Judy T. Bass of the home; his daughter, Kathy Pittman and husband, Glenn of Wilson; his son, Daryl Bass of Wilson; his grandchildren, Nikki Pittman, Mollie Bass, Alex Bass, Lillie Bass and Chris Pittman and wife, Kim; his great-grandchild, Daniel Pittman and his brother, Bruce Bass and wife, Lois of Stantonsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lena Bass; his sisters, Athalene Earp, Elizabeth Deans and Doris Moore and his brothers, Kenneth Bass, Frank Bass, Jr., Pete Bass, Tommy Bass and Rodney Bass.
