Eva Theresa Antignano December 24, 1928 – June 10, 2019 Eva “Terry” Antignano, of Wilson, formerly of New York passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at Wilson Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born in Brooklyn, New York December 24, 1928, and was the sixth of seven children born to James and Matilda Russo. She was predeceased by John, her husband of fifty-nine years. “Terry” is survived by her sons, Louis (Mary) of Wilson and John (Kathryn) of Long Beach, New York; beloved sister, Mary of Cromwell, Connecticut; grandchildren, Julie Loehlein (Eric) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, John Antignano (Heather) of Winston-Salem, Laura Peleschak (Kevin) of Cary, Lisa Wallis (William) of Apex and Noelle Antignano of San Antonio, Texas; 10 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. After life in Brooklyn, in 1960 she moved with her young family to Huntington, Long Island where she worked behind the cosmetic counter at Macy’s of Huntington for twenty-five years. After her retirement from Macy’s she worked as a teacher’s aide for children with special needs. She moved to Rochester, New York in 2003 to be closer to family. In 2011 she moved to Wilson, with her son Louis and daughter-in-law, Mary where she was a volunteer in the Wilson Medical Center gift shop for four years. She especially enjoyed the North Carolina weather, luncheons with her Wilson friends, and sitting on the backyard deck in the late afternoon with her beloved dog, Daisy. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Family will receive friends and family at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road, Wilson on Friday, June 14, 2019 between 5-8 p.m. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese Catholic Church, 700 Nash Street, Wilson on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 9 a.m. Entombment will be held at a later date in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Rochester, New York, next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of contributions in her memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1015 Ashes Drive, Suite 101, Wilmington, North Carolina 28405 or to the Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundation, 2500 E T C Jester Boulevard, Suite 150A, Houston, Texas, 77008, or to a charity of your choice.
