Fay Bass Tomlinson
March 23, 1928 - January 16, 2021
Fay Bass Tomlinson, 92, of Black Creek passed away Saturday. The immediate family will have a private burial, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Friends and family may pay respects to Fay from 3 – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Fay is survived by her two daughters, Janie T. Yelverton of Black Creek, and Susan T. Jones and husband, Brian of Rockville, Maryland; granddaughter, Stephanie Jones of Pasadena, California; two grandsons, Will Yelverton and wife, Tiffany, and Wyatt Yelverton and wife, Hollis, all of Raleigh, and four great-grandchildren, Carter, Connor, Catherine, and Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, W.H. Tomlinson; parents, Russell and Emma Bass; son-in-law, Harold Yelverton; and sister, Nora Gray Narron.
Fay was an active member of her church where she held many offices and sang in the choir. Each of her Sunday School students held a special place in her heart.

Fay’s loved ones wish to thank the family of caregivers at Parkwood Village and Aseracare Hospice’s compassionate staff for their care of Fay, Janie, and Susan.
