Faye Love Mumford

Faye Love Mumford February 9, 1940 – January 4, 2020 Faye Love Mumford, 79, of Lucama passed away peacefully on Saturday, surrounded by her family. Her funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church, 7335 Springfield School Road, Lucama. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Greg Gregory, Rev. Charles Love and Rev. Steve Roberson will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of her sister, Ann Moore. Faye was a 1958 graduate of Lucama High School. Faye was employed by Owens and Minor Pharmaceutical company, prior to starting her career and retiring as a Wilson County School secretary. She and her late husband, Jimmy, operated the B&M Log Cabin Restaurant in Lucama. Faye loved her family, friends and her Spring Hill Presbyterian Church family. She used her spiritual gifts to inspire and motivate others through her faith. Faye is survived by her daughter, Lisa M. Williams (Brad) of Rocky Mount; granddaughters, Anna Love Hellard (fiancé Matthew) of Elm City, Courtney W. McLane (Logan) of Rocky Mount and McKenzie Williams of Rocky Mount; sister, Ann L. Moore of Lucama; brother, Rev. Charles Love (Ann) of Wallace; son-in-law, Mike Hellard of Elm City; sister-in-law, Elaine Smith (Bill) of Concord; brother-in-law, Barney Mumford (Bonnie) of Garner and numerous special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Ray Mumford; daughter, Rebecca “Becky” M. Hellard; parents, Wiley and Pearl Renfrow Love; sister, Grace Smith and brothers-in-law, Jerry Moore and Jack Smith. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to Spring Hill Presbyterian Church, 7335 Springfield School Road, Lucama, North Carolina 27851.
