Frances Bissette Owens

Frances Bissette Owens, 89, of Wilson went to be her Lord on Wednesday. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The Rev. Paul Dunham will officiate. Frances was a retired registered nurse for 22 years with Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Winstead United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a very active senior citizen. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her. She will be greatly missed and thought of often. Frances is survived by her daughter, Audrey R. Miller and husband, Paul of Nashville; her son, Jerry A. Ray and wife, Ellen of Wilson; her grandchildren, Joanna Burchett and husband, David, Paula Frances Peek, Jason Ray, Ann-Catherine Owens “A.C.”, David Walston and wife, Louise, Tammy Walston and Erik Nielson and wife, Stephanie and her great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Burchett, Kasey Burchett, Chase Ray, Kamdon Owens, Garrett Walston, Blake Walston, David Bass and Kylie Nielson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Ray Nielson and her son-in-law, Dr. I, Cliff Nielson; her mother, Lallar Bissette; her step-father, Purvis A. Bissette, her husbands, Genatus Leland Ray and Joseph Lester Owens and her half-brothers, Lumus Griffin and Jack Morgan.
