Fred Crespo

Fred Crespo, 55, of Wilson, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017. He was born in Manhattan, New York on January 11, 1961. Fred embodied the spirit of the city of his birth, for no place is quite like New York City, and no person was quite like Fred Crespo. He was a gifted artist, ranging in talents from oil abstracts, and tobacco barn wood-working. He was an avid gardener with eloquently manicured lawns and shrubbery. Fred was a talented chef and enjoyed providing meals to family, friends and strangers, alike. He was a great lover of animals and will be terribly missed by Grizzly, Stella, Chewy, Kensingtina, and Keiko. He was truly one of a kind, a man who will forever be missed by those that loved and knew him best. Fred is survived by, Meg Gardner; Danielle Gardner, Ryan Hoerter and Sandi Watson Turner; special mama, Margaret Watson; four children, Cristiana Crespo, Carmen Crespo Blaise and husband, Fred, Antonio Crespo, and Catheleen Crespo Moore and husband, Sidney; three brothers, Luis Crespo, Carlos Crespo, and Johnny Crespo; five sisters, Edna Crespo Brose, Maria Del Carmen Crespo, Ani Crespo Perkins, Magdalena Cabrera Martineau, and Milagros Cabrera Anderson; twelve grandchildren (soon to be thirteen), and several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Arecelis and Luis Crespo; sister, Romanita Crespo and his brother, Jose Crespo. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 12th, 2017 at the Farmington Heights Church of God, 910 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson with visitation following.
