Fred Rasino

July 20, 1924 – August 16, 2013

Fred Rasino, 89, of Wilson passed away Friday.  Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.   Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.  He will be greatly missed and thought of often with warm memories.   Fred attended N.C. State University where he earned a Tool and Die Degree, which lead him to be an instructor at Wilson Technical Institute.  He was the owner of LaTorre and Rasino’s Restaurants.  His hobbies included collecting baseball cards and coins, building replicas of Civil War cannons and he was an avid golfer at Wedgewood Golf Course.   Fred is survived by his daughters, Stacy R. Blizzard and husband, Harold of New Bern, Valarie R. Durham and husband, Rudy of Wilson and Jessica Rasino and Mike Iannantuono of Wilmington; his son, David Rasino of Wilson; his brother, Bennie Rasino of CA; his sisters, Phyllis Cozzolino of Wilson and Fanny Quintavalle of Wilson and his grandsons, Kyle Blizzard and wife, Ronda of Jacksonville, FL, Nicholas Durham and fianceé, Katie Vanvorhees of New Bern and Ryan Blizzard of New Bern.   He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Sarah Rasino; his grandson, Travis Durham and three sisters.   Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed to Mulligan Fore Kids, PO Box 3413, Wilson, NC  27895.
