Gail Wheeler Davis
December 3, 1956 – January 30, 2018
Gail Wheeler Davis, 61, of Wilson passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Her funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Winstead United Methodist Church, 1407 S Tarboro Street, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. George Loveland will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, February 2, 2018 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Gail graduated from Fike High School in 1975. Later that year she married her husband, George “Bob” Davis. She worked as a Data Manager at Forest Hills Middle School for many years. In the last few years as her health improved, Gail was able to go back to volunteering with the Wilson County Rescue Squad. Gail was proud of her volunteer work and her rescue family. She also spent many years volunteering with the Hunt High School Chorus as her children spent a ten year span in the chorus.
Gail is survived by her son, Dr. George “Robbie” Davis, Jr., and wife Kara of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her daughters, Melissa Davis Tedder and husband, Greg of Sims, and Kristie Davis Zapf and husband, Kyle of Cypress, Texas; brothers, Brantley Wheeler and wife, Anna of Wilson, and Jimmy Wheeler and wife, Viktoriya of Wilson; several loving nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Elvis and all of her grand dogs, who she loved and treated as children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Bob” Davis, and her parents, Wayne and Elsie Wheeler.
