Gena Ruth Depew Carter

Gena Ruth Depew Carter, 87, of Wilson passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at First Christian Church, 207 Tarboro Street NW, Wilson. Rev. Bobby White will officiate. The family will have a private burial.

 The family will receive friends Friday evening, December 27, 2024, from 6 – 8 p.m. at First Christian Church, Wilson.

 Gena is survived by her sons, Philip Carter of Asheville, Peter Carter and wife, Lucia of Asheville and John Carter and wife, Beverly of Wilson; daughters, Jane Campbell of Durham, Susan Saltzman and husband, Paul of Sunset Beach, and Wendy Wingrove and husband, Brian of the home; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many loved nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-five years, A.D. Carter, Jr.; son, Michael Carter and his wife, Cindy and their daughter, Wendy; parents, Ralph and Nancy Depew; seven siblings and her son-in-law, Kenny Campbell.
