George Thomas Sharp, Jr. July 11, 1946 – March 28, 2020 George Thomas “Tommy” Sharp, Jr. passed away at his home in Kenly on Saturday, March 28, 2020. A private memorial service will be conducted by the family in Nobles Chapel Church Cemetery, 7330 Old Raleigh Road, Sims, North Carolina 27880. Tommy graduated from Rock Ridge High School and served six years in the Army National Guard. He worked and retired from Firestone/Bridgestone in Wilson. Tommy loved fishing and all animals, especially dogs. Tommy is survived by his daughter, Staci Sharp; sisters, Linda Miller and husband, Jimmy, Kathy Sherrod and husband, Ben, Debbie Hancock and husband, Charles; brother, Warren Sharp and wife, Mary; step-mother, Edna Sharp; step-brother, Nelson Stott and wife, Mary Lou; step-sisters, Ann Davis and Bonnie Dorsey and husband, Kirk; many cousins, nieces and nephews and his grand dogs, Jackson and Sophie. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Sharp and then later by his father, George Sharp, Sr. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Johnston County Animal Service, 115 Shelter Way, PO Box 1049, Smithfield, North Carolina 27577.
