George Spencer Warren, Jr., 92, of Wilson passed away Tuesday.  A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.  The Rev. Blaine Hughes will officiate. The family will receive friends 5:30 – 7 p.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. George was employed for forty-nine years with Forbes Transfer. George is survived by his son, George Spencer Warren, III formerly of Wilson and Barton College, and Francis Vick Warren and wife, Sara of Monticello, Kentucky; his grandson, Benjamin C. Warren of Monticello, Kentucky and his brothers, Doane Herring Warren of Burlington and Will “Buddy” Herring Warren of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Susan Vick Warren and his parents, George Spencer and Mary Carrow Herring Warren.
