Gerald Lee Edwards April 23, 1946 – January 2, 2020 Gerald Lee Edwards, 73 of Wilson passed away Thursday. His funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Stantonsburg Town Cemetery, Stantonsburg. The Rev. John Howard, Rev. Lewis Forsyth and Rev. Bob Rose will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Mary Ann Lane Edwards of the home; son, Stephen Edwards of the home; sister, Linda E. Howard of Greenville; sister-in-law, Edna Edwards of Elm City; nieces, Nancy Crowder, Mary Alice Davis, Amanda Vick; nephews, John Howard, Jason Howard, Vince Edwards, and his lovable fur babies, Buffy and Yellow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Nannie Mae Hagan Edwards; brother, Jasper “Dickie” Edwards; father and mother-in-law, Walter “Junior” and Mary Butts Lane; brother-in-law, Kenneth Lane and his precious fur babies, Erbi, Big Boy and McKenzie.
