Geraldine "Gerry" Newton Stott

Geraldine Newton Stott May 26, 1930 – November 1, 2018 Geraldine “Gerry” Newton Stott, 88, of Wilson passed away Thursday. Her funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, 207 Tarboro N Street, Wilson. The Rev. Gary Walling will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Frist Christian Church, Wilson. Geraldine loved her Lord and was a faithful member of First Christian Church for over fifty years. She worked with the Wilson Tobacco Company and Montrose Hanger Company for several years. Geraldine was a loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Geraldine is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Horace Stott of the home; daughter, Frances Sutton and husband, Jim of Jacksonville and her brother, Maxwell Newton and wife, Becky of Dinwiddie County, Virginia. She was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Watkins Newton and her brothers, Ralph Newton, Jr. and Charles Newton.
