Ginger Elaine Pate
December 15, 1958 – January 4, 2014
Ginger Elaine Pate, 55 passed away January 4, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 15, 1958 to the late Robert H. Pate and Hilda E. Pate. Ginger had a special love for cats. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Ginger was a member of Blended Fellowship Church in Pikeville. She also attended Forest Hills Baptist Church Deaf Ministry. Everyone who met Ginger always spoke of her sweetness. Ginger graduated from Helen Keller School for the Deaf and Blind in Talladega, Ala. Even though Ginger was physically handicapped, she lived independently for many years. She always found a way to overcome the obstacles in her life. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers, Neal Pate of Castalia; Robbie Pate and wife, Elaine of the home and Tim Pate and wife, Deborah of Lucama and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Letitia Howard for her wonderful care of Ginger, along with the staff of 3HC Hospice and Kitty Askins Hospice Home in Goldsboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Joyner’s Funeral. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Town of Calypso Cemetery. The Rev. Doug Seymour and Rev. Nathan Carter will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at 3620 Joyner Road, Elm City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Angel Foundation of 3HC Hospice, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534; or Blended Fellowship Church, 2901 Big Daddy’s Road, Pikeville, NC 27863 or Forest Hills Baptist Church, Deaf Ministry, 1407 Forest Hills Road, Wilson, NC 27896.
