Gladys Everette Lucas Shadding, 83, of Lucama passed away Saturday.  Her funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lucas Family Cemetery, Blalock Road, Lucama.  The Rev. Dr. De Wayne Eakes will officiate.   The family will receive friends Monday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at 6322 Bryan Road, Lucama.   Gladys is survived by her husband, Billy Shadding of the home; her daughters, Ruth Lucas Bailey (Tim) of Lucama and Rebecca “Eve” Lucas Taylor of Lucama; her son, Charles Lucas (Gina) of Wilson; her grandchildren, Nikki Combs Repess (Steven), Katherine Bailey, Caroline Bailey, Bridget Lucas, Tyler Taylor and Taylor Boone; her three great-grandchildren; her two sisters; and her three brothers.   She was preceded in death by her first husband, Redding Carrol Lucas, Sr.; her son, Redding Carrol Lucas, Jr.; her parents, Ruth and Rufus Everette and her two brothers.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Meals on Wheels, 2306 Cedar Run Place, Wilson, NC  27895 or WilMed Hospice, 1705 Tarboro Street S, Wilson, NC  27893.   Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
