Grace Taylor Winstead, 95 of Wilson passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson with the family receiving friends immediately following. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2025, in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Rev. Jonathan Ange will officiate.
Grace was a kind and loving lady that faithfully served her Lord and loved her church family. Growing flowers brought her much joy. Grace was also the owner and operator of Cliffs Drive In for forty-two years with her husband, Cliff. Grace loved racing and drove in the Powder Puff Derby at Wilson Speedway. Grace was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. Grace will be forever remembered with memories that will bring smiles to all that knew her.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Janice Delaney and husband, Tom of Fayetteville, Jacque Hill and husband, Bobby of Kinston, Josephine Carey and husband, Tom of Creedmore, Deborah Sullivan and husband, James of Wilkesboro, Betty Bunn and husband, Ronald of Rock Ridge and Grace Tucker and husband, Lyn of Wilson; grandchildren, Susan Young, Angela Carter, Amanda Justice, Christinia Carey, Brandon Carey, Danielle S. Stocks, Michelle Sullivan, Valerie Bunn, Dr. William “Blake” Tucker, Kristie Bailey and Lenny Tucker; great-grandchildren, Michelle Anne Delaney, Nicholas Nethercutt, Will Justice, Lindsay Alderman, Ethan Stocks, Jamison Stocks, Kate Bailey, and Jacob Tucker; great-great-grandchild, Leah Rae Nethercutt; sisters, Dorothy Lassiter, and Jean Clark, and her brother, Gary Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Cliff” Winstead; granddaughter, Mary Beth Sallee; great-great-grandson, J.P. Justice; parents, Mark and Rena Taylor; sisters, Pearl Pridgen, Rena Mae Haddock, Ruth Gaskins, Helen Kite, and Carolyn Taylor, and her brothers, Harvey Taylor, Sam Taylor, Ed Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Jamie Taylor and David Taylor.
