Gracie Louise Bailey Bunn
April 8, 1927 – January 17, 2020
Gracie Louise Bailey Bunn, 92 of Sims passed away Friday. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, 8164 Flower Hill Road, Middlesex. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Clark Vincent will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of her daughter, Gail Lee.
Gracie was the oldest living member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher, elder, choir director and she loved organizing the annual Christmas pageants. Gracie was very active in the Millbrook Square Community. She was the organizer of the annual family reunions. Gracie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. Her warm smile and words of encouragement will be missed by everyone.
Gracie is survived by her daughter, Gail Lee and husband, Randy of Sims; son, Phil Bunn and wife, Earline of Middlesex; granddaughters, April Bunn and husband, Nate Mason of Sims, Brittney McMillan and husband, Aaron of Benson, and Stormi Moore and husband, Lyle of Salemburg; grandsons, John Bunn and wife, Tina of Sims and Tristan Lee and wife, Jessica of Virginia Beach, Virginia; great-granddaughters, Summer, Ryleigh, Emery, Charlee and Abigail; great-grandsons, Parker, Tripp, and Bennett; sisters, Algie DeHart of Wilson, Alice Holland of Kenly, Esther Pearce of Middlesex and Jay Creech of Middlesex and her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Bailey of Virginia and Patricia Bailey of Middlesex.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, John D. Bunn; infant son; great-grandson, Nolan Lee; and her brothers, Ransom Bailey, Harold Bailey and Randy Bailey.
