Gregory Hunter Stokes
June 15, 1987 – November 25, 2016
Gregory Hunter Stokes, 29, of Rocky Mount passed away Friday. His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. Associate Pastor Luke Whitehead will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Hunter had a wonderful sense of humor, loved all types of music and all people. He always lifted your spirits.
Hunter leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Gregg and Virginia Stokes of Rocky Mount; sister, Lindsay Stokes, of Rocky Mount; aunt, Shirley Boyd and husband, Andy of Goldsboro; uncles John W. Stokes, Jr. and wife Tamsy of Chapel Hill, Michael D. Kimbrell and wife, Beckie of Southern Pines, Jeff M. Skinner and wife, Susan of Indian Beach; many beloved cousins, and his fur babies Peter and Piper.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents A.D. Kimbrell, of Aberdeen, and Donna M. Skinner, of Rocky Mount; paternal grandparents John W. and Jackie B. Stokes of Wilson; uncle Richard W. Kimbrell of Newland.
