Gregory Scott Varnell

Gregory Scott Varnell, 62 of Wilson, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2024, at Impact Church of Wilson, 3338 Corbett Avenue, Elm City. Rev. David List will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4 – 6 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

 Gregory is survived by his wife, Donna Etheridge Varnell; daughters, Amy V. Gaster and husband, Kyle of Annapolis, Maryland, and Allyson V. Tingen and husband, Bradley of Wilson; sons, Charles Jackson Varnell of Wilson and S. Caleb Varnell and wife, Kara of Sims; grandchildren, Abigail Johnson and husband, Bruce of Lucama, Zoe Varnell and Charlie Varnell both of Wilson, Luke Varnell and Eliza Varnell both of Sims, and Scarlett Tingen of Wilson, and his father, Charles Edward Varnell and wife, Mary of Kentucky.

 He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Thomas Varnell; mother, Patricia Varnell-Allen and his brother, M. Todd Varnell.
