Groves Varnell Stott

Groves Varnell Stott, 92, of Elm City passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023.  A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson.  Rev. David Allen will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Groves is survived by his son, Quintin Stott of Elm City; grandson, Justin Stott of Elm City; granddaughter, Suzanne Stott of Wilson; sister, Nan Hinnant-Tripp of Wilson, and his daughter-in-law, Jackie Stott of Elm City.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Joan Thorne Stott; parents, Henry Groves “Duddie” Stott and Louise Varnell Stott, and his brothers, Glenn Bradley Stott, and Johnnie Stott.
