Harlene Wells Meares, 74, of Wilson passed away Saturday.   A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Memorial Park.   The Rev. Steve Strickland will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6:30 -8 p.m. Friday at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Harlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all she knew.   She will be thought of with smiles and joy.   Harlene was a member of Grace Baptist Church for over 50 years and a member of the Women of the Moose.

Harlene is survived by her daughters, Jan Little and husband, Phillip of Wendell and Jada Bell of Jacksonville; her sons, James ??Jay-Meares of Denver, CO and Jody Meares of Wilson; her granddaughters, Adrienne Little and Nicole Meares; her grandson, Aaron Little; her great-granddaughter, Kirsten Weaber; her sisters, Jane Smith and Joan Holloman both of FL, Linda Sherrod of Wilson and Judy Strickland of Saratoga and her sister-in-law, Kitty Meares of Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Meares and her parents, William Elton and Retha Mae Vick Wells.
