Harold Elsworth Maxton

Harold Elsworth Maxton, 90, of Wilson, passed away Saturday. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Darrel Davis will officiate. Harold was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, having served during World War II. He was a recipient of a Purple Heart, a European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, a Distinguished Flying Cross, and an Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters. Surviving are his daughter, Sue Aycock Warren and husband, Calvin, of Wilson; his son, Donald Alton Aycock and wife, Marcia, of Middlesex; a sister-in-law, Annie Belle Mercer of Black Creek; three grandchildren, Kendall Warren of Wilson, Renee Aycock Maas and husband, Jeff of Wilson, Drew Aycock and wife, Amy of Wilson; two step-grandchilden and eleven great-grandchildren.
