Harold Scotty Whitley

Harold Scotty Whitley, 74, of Elm City passed away Monday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove, Elm City. Rev. Gene Wells will officiate.

 The family will receive friends Thursday evening, September 12, 2024 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the residence.

 Scotty retired from Nexans and he loved fishing, his dogs, feeding the squirrels and gardening. He was an avid New York Yankee fan. Scotty enjoyed laughter and was the ultimate practical joker. He loved his family and friends with all his heart, and he will be dearly missed.

 Scotty is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Kay Jenkins Whitley; son, Michael Scott Whitley and wife, Kim of Wilson; granddaughter, Sarah Whitley of Wilson and fiancé, Austin; step-son, Michael May of Wilson; sister, Ruth Lancaster of Wilson, and his brothers, Tony Whitley and wife, Bonnie of Wilson and Donald Whitley of Rocky Mount.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Whitley and Geneva Whitley Glover and his brother, Bill Whitley.
