Hartley Carter Adams, Jr.

Hartley Carter Adams, Jr., 74, of Wilson passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.

Hartley was raised in Emporia, Virigina and moved to Wilson in 1969 where he made his home. In 1980, he started his business, Adams Carpet One, which he ran with pride until he retired. Hartley loved to play golf, spend time with his family, and work in his yard tending his roses, hibiscuses, and tropical plants.

Hartley is survived by his sons, Mickey Brooks Adams and wife, Brittany, Will Adams and wife, Staci; grandchildren, Turner Brooks Adams, Carter Joseph Adams, Corbin Adams, and Stella Adams; brothers, Jerry Adams and wife, Debbie and Ricky Adams; step-father, Barry Falls, and the mother of his children, Ann Adams. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Priscilla Evans and Felsuia Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hartley Adams; mother, Nellie Falls; his brother Tommy Adams, and his loving canine companion, Bubba.
