Helen Shealy Caton
December 16, 1938 – January 19, 2017
Helen Shealy Caton, 78, of Wilson passed away Thursday. Her funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 612 Vance Street NW, Wilson, with the family receiving friends prior to the service from 2:30 – 3:45 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The Rev. John Drosendahl will officiate.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all that knew her. She was an excellent cook and loved to cross stitch, often creating personalized gifts for family and friends. Helen courageously fought cancer, without complaint, and always held steadfast to her faith. To say she will be greatly missed is an understatement; she was the strongest woman we have ever known.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Indra Caton Eatmon and husband, James of Macon; her son, Michael Caton of Wilson; her granddaughters, Holly Nicole Eatmon of Pinehurst and Taylor Annette Eatmon of Chapel Hill; her grandson, John Wesley Eatmon of Macon; her sister, Lucy Shealy Horne of Rocky Mount, and Harley, her loving dog.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Allen Caton.
