Henry Harvey Brantley

Henry Harvey Brantley, 77, of Bailey passed away Tuesday. His funeral service will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. The Rev. Walter Blackman and the Rev. Blake Stallings will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Harvey was a Deacon at Rock Springs OFWB Church and the coach of the church soft ball team. He was a member of the Bailey Recreation Commission for seventeen years. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Harvey is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Joyce J. Brantley of the home; his daughters, Marsha Brantley of Bailey, Lorrie Gray and husband, Don of Bailey and Beth Barlow and husband, Tom of Lexington, South Carolina; his sons, David Brantley and wife, Juliana of Bailey and Jason Brantley and wife, Alison of Lexington, South Carolina; his nieces, Jackie Liles and husband, Nernie of Sims and Debbie Beard and husband, Kevin of Bailey; his nephews, Greg Joyner and wife, Joy of Wilmington and George Joyner, III and wife, Susan of Bailey; his grandchildren, Erin Barlow, Alexis Brantley, Brantley Elizabeth Barlow, Jason Harvey Brantley, Jr. and Elizabeth Nicole Gilbert; his sisters, Marie Rose of Wilson and Eloise Eason of Tarboro; his brothers, Jay Brantley of Bailey, Harold “Pete” Brantley and Jesse Brantley, Jr. of Middlesex; a number of nieces and nephews, and Audrey Perry, his special hairdresser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Hazel Jones Brantley. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses at Transitions Life Care Hospice of Raleigh for all of the kindness, care and respect that was given to Harvey during his time of need.
