Henry Albert “Al” Terry August 6, 1933 – November 10, 2017 Henry Albert (Al) Terry, 84, died Friday, November 10, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC. Al was born in Hertford County, NC, on Aug 6, 1933, to the late Godfrey Jackson and Virginia Burden Terry. After high school, he worked in construction with his father until he joined the Army in 1953. Following active duty, he worked for the Dept. of the Navy, Sea Systems Command, until his 1988 retirement. Al and his family moved to Wilson, NC, in 2003. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Masonic Lodge AF & AM #117, an enthusiastic landscaper, and a faithful member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Godfrey Jackson Terry, Jr., and Phyllis Terry Rhea, as well as a granddaughter, Amber Terry. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rita Louise Terry, and his daughter, Vicki Lynn Terry, of Wilson, NC. Also, brothers Mark Terry (Ann) of Millennium, NC, and George Terry (Judy) of Salemburg, NC; sons Daniel Terry of Hardy, VA, and Mike Terry (Doris) of St. Albans, WV; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Forest Hills Baptist Church, 1407 Forest Hills Rd., Wilson, NC, the Rev. Justin Deeter officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated, as will donations to Alzheimer’s NC, Inc., 9131 Anson Way, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27615.
