Herbert “Herb” Turner Lane March 12, 1930 – August 12, 2016 Herbert “Herb” Turner Lane, 86, of Wilson passed away Friday. His funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Herb served his country with honor and pride with the United States Navy, and he was a Korean War Veteran. He was a member of Wilson Masonic Lodge 712 and a Sudan Shriner. Herb was an insurance District Manager for thirty-five years and after retiring he owned and operated B&L Office Furniture. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and a friend to all who knew him. Herb will be missed and thought of often with memories that will bring joy. Herb is survived by his daughters, Renee Lane Olivieri and husband, Michael, of Elm City, Wanda Lane Saunders and husband, Tony, of Spring Hope, and Vicky Braswell and husband, Rick, of Elm City; his grandsons, Ernest Lee Carson and wife, Erin, of Newport and Elisha Lane Proctor and wife, Misty, of Wilson; granddaughters, Kelsey Suzanne Olivieri of Raleigh, Lauren Danielle Nicholson of Raleigh, and Jamie Carson Bandari and husband, Amir, of Little River, South Carolina; his great-grandsons, Walker Carson and Brady Carson, and Connor Bandari; great-granddaughter, Leila Bandari; his sisters, Betty Sue Chance and husband, Ted, of Rockingham and Barbara Ann Walters of West End, and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Gibson Lane; his daughter, Deborah Kay Lane; two sisters and a brother. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sudan Shriners Hospital for Children, 403 East Front Street, New Bern, North Carolina 28560-4916. Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net.
