Horace Lee Raper
April 30, 1939 – October 25, 2018
Horace Lee Raper, 79, of Wilson passed away Thursday. His funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon immediately following the service. Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate.
Horace was born and raised in Wilson County. He served his country with honor and pride with the National Guard. Horace was a member of the Wilson Active Artists. He was a man of many talents, he was a self-taught musician that played the drums and an artist. Horace was a well-known Artist for his paintings of the Eastern North Carolina Tobacco Barns. Horace will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for this art work.
Horace is survived by his daughter, Dawn R. Pasquarelli and husband, Paul of Clayton; granddaughters, Ashley Strickland and husband, Michael of Wendell and Robyn Hendricks of Charlotte; grandson, Preston Waller and wife, Karla of Lumberton; his great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hailey and Rylee; step-children and step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Raper and his son, Michael Raper.
