Howard Raymond Godwin May 9, 1929 – August 22, 2021 Howard Raymond Godwin, 92 of Wilson passed away Sunday. A private graveside service will be held for the family. Rev. Walter Blackmon will officiate. An informal viewing will be offered to Howard’s friends on Monday, August 23, 2021 from 12 – 7 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Howard served as a Deacon at Rock Springs OFWB Church for forty years. Howard is survived by his daughters, Glenda Whitley and husband, Keith of Bailey, and Kim Edmundson and husband, Jimmy of Wilson; son, Roy Godwin and wife, Debbie of Wilson; granddaughter, Ashley Barnes and husband, Alan of Rocky Mount; grandsons, Brad Whitley and wife, Amanda of Wilson, Josh Edmundson and wife, Lindsey of Wilson, Caleb Edmundson of Wilson, Chad Lucas and wife, Amanda of Greenville, and Lance Lucas and wife, Victoria of Stantonsburg, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etta Temple Godwin. The family would like to express their thanks to Linda Price, his caregiver for all of her help, comfort, and kindness to Howard.
